Review: Marc Jacobs Daisy Limited Edition "Sunshine" Fragrance

  Marc Jacobs Daisy: Sunshine

This limited edition fragrance is well worth the price, one sniff and I was sold. I was originally going in to Sephora to buy the original, but the colorful twist on the packaging intrigued me. I hadn't heard of this new release (at the time, as you can see below this has been well loved throughout the summer) and it didn't take long for me to be carried away by the scent right to the register...

Despite the fact that I've been wearing this for months now, I-like every other person on the planet-cannot describe a perfume to save my life. I will therefore leave it up to science; it has notes of red currant, guava, juicy mandarin, lily of the valley, violet, lychee, apricot skin, blonde woods, and musks. It is also described as having a vibrant, floral, and fruity style

The one downside to this eau de toilette is exactly that- it is an eau de toilette. The smell doesn't linger as long as an eau de parfum would, but if I were to argue the other way I would say that it is a plus that it isn't a heavy smell. As always, there are pros and cons; this one simply leans heavily on the pro side.

I feel as if this scent is more of a younger smell. Not to say that if you are an adult it wouldn't suit, I just wouldn't suggest it for your grandmother's 60th birthday present.

It saddens me to think that this bottle will soon be empty, or no longer an appropriate scent for the season. Which is rather strange considering I'm a rather big fan of the musky, spicier smells that come with the fall and winter time. But enough of the future! This fragrance is still available in both this size (1.7oz) and a larger one as well (2.5oz).

All in all, if you like the original and are looking for something a little more fresh, this is a great choice. Just as the name suggests, it is perfect for a day of sunshine.
